Beyond the reasons, ideologies and narratives used to justify each conflict, war is also shaped by economic interests. The references to the *dollar and oil* point directly to the financial forces that can exist behind destruction.

The raw, unstretched and crumpled canvas reinforces this sense of violence and instability, becoming itself a reflection of a world distorted and damaged by war.
